I offer free 30-minute initial consultations and flexible communication that helps clients clarify their needs, and I provide custom quotes and work plans for each project.

I do not use generative AI in any of my editorial services.

Developmental Editing

Developmental editing uses careful, critical reading and high-level line editing to help authors strengthen their narrative and argument, identify and address organizational challenges, and improve overall clarity. I provide developmental editing clients with detailed memos that include general and chapter-level guidance, and within the manuscript will offer marginal comments and line edits for further guidance. Combined with coaching and consulting sessions, developmental editing provides writers with excellent guidance from the start of a project to the completion of a polished manuscript.

I can help you develop the kind of book proposal that makes an agent or editor take notice. My proposal package includes one hour of you initial consultation, a comprehensive developmental review of your draft proposal, followup consultation, and review of a revised draft. Added developmental or line editing of sample chapters can help clients prepare a high-impact package for submission to prospective publishers.
